Friends of the Tualatin Public Library is a member-supported nonprofit organization that advocates, fundraises, and provides support for the Tualatin Library. We provide the community with opportunities to invest in the success of the library by donating funds or by donating time through volunteering. We raise money and we raise our voices to ensure a first-class public library for Tualatin.

News and events

Donations to the library. At our meeting on January 10, 2012, the Friends voted to donate funds to the library for two things. We are contributing $510 for programming for "El dia de los ninos," a bilingual event celebrating Children's Day on April 28, 2012. And we're giving the library $600 for two book carts to improve efficiency in the library's circulation operations.

Next member meeting. March 13, 2012, 7:00 pm in the Library Community Room.

Online book sales. The Friends are now offering used books through Amazon.com. Check out our online book store for some great bargains.

Holiday Book Sale. The Friends held our annual Holiday Book Sale on December 3, 2011 in the Library Community Room. We sold thousands of books and netted our best proceeds ever from a one-day sale. Many thanks to the 22 volunteers who made this happen.

Fall Newsletter. The Friends Fall Newsletter is out with the latest information about our online book selling venture, the library's RFID project, our latest donations to the library, and more.

You can help

We have many volunteer opportunities in the Friends. You can volunteer to help with book sales, publicity or administrative tasks. You can donate books and other materials. We invite you to join the Friends

What we do

With the funds raised through the sale of used books, we make programming and purchases possible that would otherwise be outside the library's budget. Check out some of the ways we've helped the library in the past.
